This is a classic dynamic retro microphone with modern internals. It features a high output cartridge which allows for high powered audio. Unidirectional (cardoid) design to pick up audio in front of the microphone extremely well while blocking out background noise in the studio. All in a retro looking outer case that looks straight out of the 50s and 60s. While this microphone isn’t as heavy duty as some of the others I’ve seen it is a lot less inexpensive and should work fine for a long time. It’s a little bit more on the modern side in terms of its looks although they are definitely inspired by retro microphones. Something about it just seems a little more modern looking though. The lack of information on the construction material is probably hiding that it’s plastic or aluminum. When you consider the quality of the internal parts in combination with the great price this is a really good buy. It might not be solid metal (they don’t specify) but if taken care of this microphone should be providing you with quality audio performance for many years. Don’t doubt its capabilities as a recording device just its exact faithfulness to the retro look. If you can over look this then you have an amazing microphone. Definitely a high quality microphone that still retains a very retro look. Don’t pass this deal up as it’s an opportunity to pick up a beautiful and high quality microphone. If you like the look don’t hesitate as there’s no doubt this is a professional level audio microphone. |
